i know obvious CHRISTMAS movies, but im talking movies that give you that warm fuzzy feeling or make you laugh out loud, but take place in a snowy town,or have winter to do with the theme. or thanksgiving or christmas is being celebrated in the movie.
we live in the desert and are dying of heat and need to get in the holiday spirit as much as possible!

Mexican students at US schools “still in Mexico” after holidays. Is this common?

February 21st, 2010

Mike P asked:

I’ve noticed at schools here that many of the students of Mexican heritage tend to be “still in Mexico” or “gone” from school for periods ranging from days to weeks after school vacations like Spring Break or Winter Break. (and sometimes the weeks leading into a holiday).

When I went to school it would be unthinkable to miss more than a day or two of school for non-essential matters.

Is this common everywhere in the US or is it just a Nevada thing?
Is it cultural to be more fluid with holiday time etc?
