This year my husband and I decided to make each other Xmas presents instead of spending big bucks on gifts. Any ideas? I’ve made an album before but my creative side of my brain is on vacation.

have you tried the no sew blankets in the craft store there are lots of patterns of fleece you generally buy one printed piece(size depends on how big you would like it)and one solid colored piece the same size then lay in on top of each other and cut in to both sides like about 8 inches all the way around it so it looks like you have fringe and then you tie the blanket together this is such a fun blanket because of all of the colors they have and it is very warm and easy to do – you might look it up on the internet and I think they are called no new blankets. . .

Sorry, you didn’t give details about what skills you might have, nor if you had children.
A memo board for his office? See Martha Stewart, it has elastic on it for big or small memos.
A hanger board for his tools in the garage?
A cute hanger/holder for rags for his garage?
Car seat covers?
Hand made tie?
A personalized calendar with pictures you took of vacations, or family, or even themed by the month? Use photos you already have, like the family sitting down to Thanksgiving feast, or take new ones. You could stage seasonal pics, the family could have a blast sneaking around, making outfits, signs, etc to go with each month. Xmas could be you and the kid’s all wearing reindeer antlers, and holding a big wrapped box with his name on a great big gift tag, big enough for the camera to see it clearly, or dress up like presents. The month of his birthday could be just a pick of him, your fav one, of course, or a brand new one of him.
If you don’t have kids, a calendar of just you and not much else, and, well, maybe that side of your brain is working, and you get what I mean, LOL, but do that tastefully [lest the calendar get into the wrong hands], and maybe with a sense of humor. One somewhat Sport’s Illustrated cover model type pic, maybe for August, and the April/Easter one is you in a full furry rabbit suit, and all he gets to see is your face with a pink bunny nose and whiskers might be funny, and cute. The swim suit one could be done cute, too, if you have a beach pic of you that is not exactly flattering, maybe one of the kid’s is screaming, or your trying to get a scared kid into the water, or do you in a Victorian era swimsuit. You could caption each one of them, like August:Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. And it’s you in a bathing costume. Or February is the youngest kid, dressed up like cupid and the lyrics to the song “Cupid, draw back your bow” Or it is you in a slinky red long negligee[forgive my spelling].
Merry Xmas!
