DK asked: Payday is every other Wednesday, so we should get paid November 11th and then Nov 25th (day before thanksgiving). No problem, in fact it works out great, cause then I can use all my extra money from that paycheck for Black Friday…. Except for the fact that we’re closed for the entire week November 22nd – November 29th. This will also be the case for the week of Christmas (we should get our paychecks on December 23rd).
We’ve had issues in the past with our paychecks not coming in on the day they’re supposed to because it’s “a holiday and/or vacation” so I was just wondering if they’re allowed to hold our paychecks because it’s a vacation, or if they’re required to hand them over on November 25th.
I don’t care if i have to go pick them up from the corporate office myself if they’re not willing to drive them out to our location, but is it legal for me to do that if they’re unwilling? Is it legal for them to tell us we have to wait until after our (unpaid) vacation to get our paychecks?

Maria Bonilla asked: My fiancee is an unharmed security guard for Wackenhut security. Currently the only benefit he has is one week of paid vacation per year, no sick days or anything else. Also he has worked on holidays like thanksgiving and the pay rate is the same, is that legal?

starfire asked: I had about 5 days of vacation left for ’07, that don’t carry over. Started, FMLA in November, was supposed to have vacation in Dec. lost it, along with Thanksgiving & Xmas holidays. If I had been able to use those separately, would have had more FMLA time.
