Hallowe’en and Xmas: Are you aware of the traumatic effect on children from these absurd holidays?
December 28th, 2010
FRANsuFU asked:
Some adults – I know a few – still have nightmares about a loud, obese man with a deep voice and clothed in a red and white costume; and about ghosts and goblins and dead figures rising from a couch on the porch. This question is not directed at those of you who believe it’s all in good fun, and that your child or children really enjoy being frightened, almost as much as they like the roller-coaster. All I can suggest is that you think about trauma in kids, and the fact that they don’t see things through your eyes. I simply think it’s your responsibility to see things through theirs. Happy Hallowe’en.
