So I’ve quited smoking a couple of months ago and made it a tradition to celebrate every month. So far I’ve been pampering myself with restaurant, cinema, massage and teeth whitening. I am saving money to go on vacation in the winter, so please give me an idea of something not that expensive but still to mark the occasion.

There are 2 reasons why I LOVE christmas!! 1. Sales 2. Day after christmas sales. Usually,I end up buying myself things more than I buy for anyone else.

This year consisted of like 5 trips to the mall. i got:

2 pairs of abercrombie jeans. (one had no security sensor attached so I’ll let you guess about that) 40% OFF!
3 pairs of jeans, 2 sweaters and 1 T shirt from Ruehl NO.925 Everything was 50% off, even clearance and jeans were 50% off 38$ because the store is closing
1 Military Jacket from Banana Republic: $198 but I got 40% off because I opened their credit card so it came out to 118!!! (now their all sold out, and even on sale after xmas you couldn’t buy it for less than 140!!
1 pair of newly released shorts that will look amazing on my cruise this winter!!!!!!

I’m having an issue with my boyfriend about our Christmas tree this year. I’m not a huge fan of the holiday, but I do like the decorations, especially the tree. I have been unable to have a tree for the past 7 years, so this year when I have the money and space to get one, I’m really excited about it. However, I just moved in with my boyfriend this year and we’ve discovered that there are two different kinds of people: Those who like real trees, and those who like artificial.

Although I would like a real tree, it’s his house and he is going to pay for the tree so I’m willing to get an artificial one (which is what he wants). However, I do NOT want a pre-lit tree, and I don’t want one that has plastic berries and pine cones all over it. Unfortunately that’s all we’re finding, nobody carries any trees that aren’t pre-lit or decorated, and it’s starting to cause some serious strife. The only trees I’ve found that I think are nice enough to bring into the house are $180-$200, but my boyfriend refuses to buy one of these because they’re too expensive. He wants to take home some $80 monstrosity with electric lights (after I’ve already bought several strands of LED’s), but I just don’t like the way the cheaper ones look and I don’t like the bases, they seem to be too flimsy.

Am I being too hard-headed on this issue, or do you think it’s his turn to bend a little? I don’t want to be out of line, but I would like to remind him that I have sacrificed some of my wants, and would appreciate some middle ground.
