We only have 1 or 2 main highways that run through Canada and the traffic during winter is slow and heavy so we get more time to be with our family. HOWEVER, you guys have more statutory holidays then we do so it sort of evens out….and as Canadians we basically know how to handle lots of snow, the only snow days we get are if the roads are glare ice and with 3 ft of snow over top of them….which is rare.

I am from central Arizona and my kids get 2 weeks of winter break without any snow days. The same for when we lived in Southern California. It depends on the area and school district. Canada does not get a better deal than Americans in this matter.

Some people in America get more than one week. Depends if your school uses semesters or terms. (Two semesters or three terms making up one school year)

Because Canada is just better than everywhere else. Take some time and examine their government, military, social programs, enviromental programs- you will want to move there yourself. Except, they proabably wont let you- because unlike most other countries, they are very strict about their immigration policies and actually enforce them.

I live in Michigan. We used to get about 2 weeks, but then we decided to compromise, and get 1 more week of summer break.
I’d actually rather have more winter break, though, because near the end of summer, I’m wanting to go back to school.

It depends on the school district and calender pattern. Some years are different then others.
