I don’t know if it would help. Example – I’ve played guitar for 23 years – I’ve always said “if you HAVE to get me something, get me some strings” The first question is “how much are they” $4.50, the second is “write down what to ask for” so I do. Basically, I’d rather just get good wishes than things. If they have to get something, I try to give them every opportunity to spend very little money. I always get some kind of shirt or something that cost way more than strings. I gave up. Some people just like to shop.
