ideas to celebrate christmas at home?

November 11th, 2009

should be working asked:

Hi. My boyfriend and I are celebrating an early christmas at my new apartment before we each head to our separate homes for the holidays. We are both 23. We are exchanging gifts, etc, but I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas for a fun/festive/at home/reasonably priced activity? I was thinking something along the lines of xmas cookies…but wanted other ideas? Please nothing crude.
thanks for everything so far, merry xmas!! still looking for some more great ideas!

If you do crafts you can make a tree ornament . Maybe it can become a tradition for the two of you . Remember to date it though .

wellll i unfortunately cant think of really any “activities” but maybe you two could watch the movie Elf (with Will Ferrell). if you kind of want something festive and fun to do and laugh then i think this could work but idk some ppl dont like it…..hope this helps you !!

    merry christmas :-)

Ooh, make homemade Christmas ornaments together. If the two of you get married sometime in the future, you will always have those ornaments to hang on your tree and reminisce about your dating memories.

Hobby Lobby and other crafts places sell wooden pieces you can glue together and add embellishments.

candle lit dinner. Don’t try to cook (like I did), you just order the food and set up the table.

Ok–let me think–back in the day before we were “us”, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we would exchange gifts, have a nice little “appetizer” type dinner and watch movies together. I always made (and still do on Christmas Eve) this crock pot full of tiny meatballs and sausages in a sauce that’s just a can of cranberry sauce and a bottle of chili sauce (let ‘em simmer all day), a cheese and cracker plate and cookies. In the early days we might have met friends for a drink or two after work then headed home for our own little celebration. Wow!! I kinda miss that! Thanx! I may have to re-create 30 years ago this weekend!!
