Gravity asked: I’m interested in some winter sports like snowboarding and skiing, but I’ve never been before. Where’s a good place for someone to book a vacation for a few days where it’s pretty much winter year round, where you can rent snowboards and equipment and just pretty much try everything out in an all inclusive vacation?

Rick asked: One will carry hot water, another one cold. They will cut through the base board of the house, then run underneath the deck to the hottub. They will be used to fill the hottub. You ask, why don’t you just use a garden hose? – Too much work. Especially in the winter. The house is in the mountains, and gets a lot of snow. The external faucet may freeze, and then I’d need to run the hose through the living room into the basement, i’ve done it once, had enough. Also, the house is a vacation rental, and if the hottub is a mess, i need to change it quickly. So here are my questions:
1. In the winter months, the temperatures drop below zero. If I turn on the cold water, it starts flowing through a very very cold brass pipe, will it turn to ice midway?
2. Do you know of any mechanical flow control shut off valves that can be set to deliver precise number of gallons, say 450, and then shut off. It would also be nice if it back drained the pipe into the sump after it shuts off!

Livingthedream asked: I´m repeating this question ´coz I forgot to include some info: I´m visiting him for 13 days during Winter break.
Engaged. LDR. He´s in The USA, I´m in Europe. I have a few days off work. I want to go to Switzerland. Fiancé doesn´t like the idea for the following:
-I didn´t ask him before buying the ticket. He says I should b thinking of terms of US rather than I.
-He asked me: How would I feel if he went on vacation without me?
-He told me it´s a lot of money that I should save for a vacation for the two of us.
My answer:
-I´ve told him to come visit me in Europe. He says he can´t ´coz his job is at hazard and ´coz he has no money.
I really want to go. I love traveling. I don´t see what´s wrong with me going.
What do you think?

Angmellow Darouiche asked: I’m in the middle of winter vacation and I am really bored so I was thinking about watching a good anime series. But the ones like Bleach and Beyblade didn’t intrest me much. I think Dragon Ball Z is really good but the problem is that all the other *action* animes didn’t intrest me much. Sakura card captors is good. Can anyone suggest any anime like DBZ or S.C.C.?

Deborah D asked: Have vacation home in western NC which will be unoccupied during the winter months. Evening temps routinely below freezing, sometimes high winds, frequent snows. I understand general principles to avoid bursting water pipes and fixtures. I seek a check list to make certain I don’t overlook details.

GettinHitched 10-2-11 asked: I have just come back from a week’s vacation in Mystic, CT (I’m from the Chicagoland area), and I have one more week of paid vacation for the year that I have to use before Dec. 31st. I haven’t thought of what to do with that week yet. I definitely want to do something fun and relaxing, but my boyfriend doesn’t have any more vacation time at his job, so I’ll be alone whatever it is I’m doing. Any suggestions on what to do or where to go? I don’t have a ton of money and I don’t have a passport. I will be using my paid time off sometime between November 1st and December 31st.
Sorry you’re hurting Shirley. Things will get better soon. You’re in my thoughts.
