should be working asked:
Hi. My boyfriend and I are celebrating an early christmas at my new apartment before we each head to our separate homes for the holidays. We are both 23. We are exchanging gifts, etc, but I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas for a fun/festive/at home/reasonably priced activity? I was thinking something along the lines of xmas cookies…but wanted other ideas? Please nothing crude.
thanks for everything so far, merry xmas!! still looking for some more great ideas!

Its a listing of gifts people want, so people buying have an idea what to get someone. Any thoughts?

i spent 2 weeks of holiday vacation (including xmas and new year) at my aunt’s house. I had a wonderful time; everyone was really courteous, and i got along really well with my cousins. However, i don’t know how to properly thank them. Phone calls, gifts, emails, letters…what should i do to show my appreciation? What should i say?

I believe that McCain was the Senator at the time when Arizona refused to recognize Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday as a National holiday.
In fact, they lost their 1st bid at a Super Bowl (later awarded AFTER they recognized MLK as a holiday) because of it.
Yet, people in here call Obama “racist”?
Hmmmm.
Thoughts?
Regarding “white” holidays: Every other holiday is a “white” holiday. Recognizing MLK’s contribution to America for ONE day shouldn’t be an issue.

I need to go to another town and have something signed and notarized. I have to do this on a non-working day because the travel time is 2 hours. What kinds of places have notaries AND are open on weekends and/or holidays?

Just a survey. Do your family have silly arguments over the holidays over little stuff? And its that time of the year again.

J J asked:
My mother in law has this tree/desert brush looking item that she says she got when she lived in California and she thinks it came from a desert. It is really smooth and a pale brown, almost like a river birch without the bark. It also looks like a weathered tree from the river or ocean. It is mounted to a platform that allows it to stand up and she decorates it for different holidays. Any help would be appreciated!
